Only eight draft constitution books available for 100,000 Burmese in Singapore

Historic Moment

Amazing and unbelievable!

Burmese Embassy in Singapore has only eight draft Constitution Books for estimated 100,000 Burmese staying legally in the Island State.

When, activist Burmese pressed Burmese Embassy to provide the draft constitution booklets, before voting on Sunday, they only have the chance to read the book inside the Embassy Compound at 3:30 pm yesterday.

The strange thing is that all the answers relating to voting matters were given through a non Burmese, Singaporean Staff of Burmese Embassy.

Followings are the questions of Burmese Activists in Singapore, answered in English through Ms Anna by Second Counselor U Myint Htun ,

Answering whether Burmese in Singapore can get the draft Constitution books, from the Burmese Embassy in Singapore, Ms Ana said, Burmese in Singapore are allowed to read the draft constitution books at Counselor Office Counter only. The books are not allowed to photocopy, and also not allowed to bring out the premise of Myanmar Embassy.

Answering the question of whether Burmese can study the draft constitution in the evenings, U Myint Htun replied through Ms Anna, that was impossible as Embassy will be closed at 5:00 pm.

The counselor also said that Myanmar Embassy in Singapore has only eight draft constitution books. That is the reason why so many people come to the Embassy at same to read the draft constitution is impossible.

Dear friends in Singapore, you guys have exposed the true nature of Military Junta guided Referendum to the free world. Thank you.

Diversion of Attention from the National Cause, by Ko Htike

Military Junta of Burma’s current strategy is “To Counter the Media War with Media War”. In this process Junta started spreading the gossip news among the Burmese youth to divert the attention from the National cause.

Most of the Burmese youth were well aware of Oppression, Injustice of the Military Junta of Burma. However, while most of the Burmese youth attention was on the current Military Generals atrocities, some of them were paying attention to the gossips relating personal affairs of the famous artists of Burma.

Some of the news were authentic and some were just merely rumors. Some were aware of military Junta’s new strategy. However, most of the youth have shown interest of the famous artist Nandar Hlaing’s gossip voice file more than, the news of arrested activist Ko Htin Kyaw’s hunger strike.

There were video clips of porn movies, actually which were cut and pasted from foreign porn movie into Burmese porn clips with the name of ….so and so Burmese Models and artists. The sad news is many Burmese have shown interest and wasting their time discussing who is who in these clips. I feel sorry for those who were arrested while preparing to celebrate Independence Day in Burma.

At the same time our Burmese youth out there were busy searching these clips.

This is very important time for Min Ko Naing and 88 generation students, as Junta is preparing to charge them in a court. At the same time another porn video clip has emerged in Internet which claimed that it was a famous male artist with a daughter of a Minister.

I would like to remind all Burmese youth, the importance of this video clips is so insignificant, when compare to the suffering of the oppressed Burmese people. So be ware of attention diversion news of Military junta.

With regards

Because of showing Tattoo like this G-Tone was arrested

( copied fr Niknayman’s Blog)

According to DVB news, a Hip Hop singer G -Tone was arrested for removing his shirt and showing the tattoo at his back which was the Buddhist Worshiping Symbol of hands design while performing on the stage show at a Hotel in Yangon.

The Performance was at Mya Yeik Nyo Hotel. About a thousand of youths watched his performance. Police tried to arrest him while he was still performing over the stage. However fellow artists apologised the police not to arrest him over the stage. He was arrested immediately after the performance.

Upon hearing G-Tone arrest, the youth started shouting, demanding the singer to be released. Police retaliated by charging the youths with batons and kicking and punching.

As I wrote in previous post, Burmese Junta seems even unable to allow showing the Buddhist symbol of worship to the Burmese people.

Do you think are they ready for the Democratic changes?

Myat Khine is again in the Burmese News.

A Burmese journal was suspended this week by the Burmese authorities over its editor’s personal conflict with a pro-junta journalist, according to sources in Rangoon.

Sit Mone

“There was a conflict between the Middle Line’s editor, Oo Swe, and the pro-junta editor of Snap Shot Journal, Myat Khine. Oo Swe claimed that other journals could not reprint photos which had been used in the Snap Shot Journal,” said the journalist. “Oo Swe told the board of censors that giving special favors to some journalists was a double standard.”

China Rebukes Burmese Junta

downchina.jpgassk.jpgtin-oo.jpgu-win-tin.jpgsu-su-nwe.jpgmin-ko-naing.jpg

Probably Chinese authorities have read my previous post! The news from Nay Pyi Daw( the Jungle Capital of Burma) was that the Chinese vice foreign affairs Minister Ying had recently rebuked the Military Junta of Burma. He left Burma on Friday.

How he “rebuked” Burmese Junta was not very clear. However China should do more than pep talk to the Junta to regain its credibility and respect from Burmese and the International Society.

Junta Supremo Than Shwe allegedly said that he is committed to “the seven step Road Map to Democracy” which is still a long way off for the Burmese people.

The Whole world and Burmese people have no trust that the handful of Junta’s selected people, which would stop and continue their convention according to the Junta’s blessing, will produce any useful constitution for the Burmese people. They have done it for the Junta of Burma to be in power forever.

Anyway, this is for the Political Leaders of Burma to decide what to accept and how to discuss; it is beyond this blogger’s scope.

This blogger only want to remind that in that process, lives have been sacrificed, people have been detained and tortured and that process is still on-going in Burma.

Genuine dialogue will happen only in a free environment without intimidation.

Genuine dialogue will happen only with mutual respect.

Genuine dialogue will not happen while the other participants are still under detention.

The world should not forget U Win Tin who has served the longest Jail term at the age of 80. He is one of the founders of NLD. He was arrested in 1989.

The blogger also wants to remind you that Daw Aung San Su Kyi and U Tin Oo is still under house arrest.

Student leaders like Min Ko Naing and the 88 generation leaders are still under arrest.

U Khun Tun Oo, the ethnic Shan NLD leader is still under arrest too.

Activist Monk U Gambira and Su Su Nwe were arrested while the UN Envoy of Human Rights was in Burma recently.

I hope the Chinese official’s rebuke would not make the Junta more restless and encourage more arrest as the Junta’s way to Democracy is by sending as many people with different opinion as they can to Jail.

Chinese Communist hate Freedom Of Burma!

china.jpghate-freedom.jpg

1.The Chinese Communist Government

So far this blogger refrained from criticizing China in Burmese politics. The blogger was genuinely hoping that the Chinese government would pay heed to the voice of Burmese people and the International community not to support the military Junta of Burma. Now it is obvious that the Chinese Government’s only interest is the continued exploitation of political chaos in military ruled Burma.

The Blogger used the word Chinese government because China is a communist country and Chinese people are not to be blamed for their government policy, as there is no voice or opinion of Chinese people in their country.

However Chinese authority should not forget that China has become a world economic giant and its Government has tried hard to polish the image of the Government, the Country and its people as an emerging World Super Power.

I am fully aware that Chinese leaders are no way equivalent to the Burmese Junta. However, from the Burmese Generals point of view, they think that they are the same type of people.

Chinese leaders are patriotic and they believe in their system. They are working hard for their own country, which is among one of the Great Empires of this earth.

However Burmese Generals are working very hard for their own survival and personal gain. They neither have ideology nor religion.

The late Burmese dictator Ne Win always spoke of himself as though he were on the same level as the Chinese Leader Mao Ze Tung. However Ne Win was the person who did not dare to attend the funeral of the Earl Louis Mountbattern of Burma ( he is famous for his courage in fighting on the WWII battlefield in Burma) because of his inferiority complex and ordered the plane to turn back half way from England, as he had no courage to face the real leaders of the world who had gathered in England for the state Funeral Ceremony.

Now, the current Burmese Generals are a thousand times inferior to Ne Win, however, they are still of the opinion that their leadership is on the same level of leadership as that of China.

If I were a Chinese leader, because of this fact alone, I would stop supporting the Junta to save my own pride and show the world that China and the Junta are different types of people.

Secondly, for the Geopolitical reason, I do not think that the subsequent democratically elected government of Burma will make a dumb decision that will affect China negatively in favour of the West as all the future leaders of Burma will be much more intelligent and educated than the current regime.

Another reason is, if the Military collapsed in Burma, the myth that “there will be disintegration of the Country, and that the country will become a second Yugoslavia” (the Generals’ propaganda and excuse to stay in the power) will be refuted. The new generation of the military leaders will continue to enforce the real soldier’s duty under the democratically elected government. Ethnic minorities are fed up with decades of civil wars, which the generals used to their advantage to hold the power indefinitely.

I am very sure Chinese leaders know very well about what I have mentioned in the previous paragraphs. They only pretend not to know, as they have a very good political think tank, advisors and well-informed intelligence and they might even have a contingency plan for what to do if there is a democratically elected Government in Burma.

So finally I have to conclude that the Chinese government wishes to exploit the current political chaotic condition of Burma for their gain, which is in material terms, like gas, petrol and natural resources.

But they ignore the importance of the prestige, legacy and pride of a big Nation. By supporting the Evil regime of Burma, their credibility and respect in the third world countries that are also the victims like Burma, will fall dramatically.

Finally, both, politically and ideologically, China will be the loser as communism is always associated with the oppressed and believe in revolution to topple the oppressor.

So are they really communists? Why they can’t support the oppressed according to their ideology? Or are they actually far worse than the imperialists?

Now it seems that the so-called imperialists countries like US, UK and European Countries are doing better than China for the liberation of Burma.

So, as an oppressed citizen of Burma, would I be wrong to address the Chinese Government as part of the Axis of Evil?

Who are the other Evils of the axis?

Let me tell all of you later!

Burmese bloggers are united

Bloggers Thought

A few months ago I never thought that one day I would be writing a blog. Busy with my daily hectic schedule, I was just an ordinary middle class Burmese staying away from Burma for almost two decades.

I thought blogosphere is for the younger generation, or for those who want to to kill their precious extra time. My daily routine involved just checking my email in-box and checking the Burmese web sites bookmarked in my PC to run through latest news about Burma, before starting the said routine.

Then, the unexpected August- September uprising started. I still remember having goose-bumps when one blogger from Burma exclaimed “Now those who said that Burmese people are cowards, see what we are doing” and accidentally bumped into a cbox updating live ,which showed what was happening in Burma.

Then BBC, CNN and Aljazeera provided live coverage of what was unfolding in Burma and Burmese web sites started updating up to date information in Burma. How did they get these news? The answer is: From Burmese Bloggers…bravely evading the Burmese Junta firewall and risking there own life to inform what is happening from home.

I started blogging on the 29th of September without understanding much about the blogosphere. I wrote post after post to cool down the boiling blood inside my-body for the injustice done to Burmese People. My purpose was to let the whole world know the injustice that was being done by the evil force in Burma.

Then I started realizing that there are people like me in the blogs. I was a busy person, like all of those staying in the big cities of the free-world . Sometimes I missed my homeland terribly. Sometimes I would feel like chatting with like minded friends about the future of our country. Strange enough, within this short period of a month, I’ve gotten to know so many kind people in this Blogosphere, both Burmese and Non Burmese. All of us were united by one similar objective, which is, the freedom of Burma.

And almost all are willing to help each other. Soothing words and kind encouragement were received. Warmth of being accepted into the new society, which is an incredible feeling that turns into motivation and energy for me to work harder for the freedom of Burma.

What I can tell you is that genuine Burmese bloggers are united against the one evil force. I wish all Burmese young and old, from all the ethnic groups, and all the religions unity despite the differences ..then there will be the final countdown for The Military Junta of Burma.

Democracy is the unity of the people while accepting the differences.

This post is dedicated to those who were and are helping me to continue posting as Sitmone in this blogosphere.
