Burmese Junta King Anger. UNDP head left Rangon.

petries-visa.jpgburmasoldiers.jpg

Following is the full text version from Irrawaddy, about Junta King Than Shwe’s anger, and analysis of the mind of the Junta’s king by Yeni  of Irrawaddy( Updated on 6.12.07)

http://www.irrawaddy.org/article.php?art_id=9511

Charles Petries Visa (Photo- above) has criticised the Junta

The statement, issued by the UN country team in Rangoon, declared that the concerns of the Burmese people had been “clearly expressed through the recent peaceful demonstrations, and it is beholden on all to listen.”

The demonstrations had highlighted that many of the Burmese people’s aspirations—“development, prosperity, peace, security and dignity for all”—were not yet “a reality for all.”

The September events, the statement said, had “clearly demonstrated the everyday struggle to meet basic needs, and the urgent necessity to address the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the country.”

The UN statement followed one issued jointly by more than a dozen international humanitarian organizations urging “all parties to increase their efforts to address the underlying causes of the current situation.”

Referring to these “underlying causes,” the UN statement said that “while acknowledging the efforts made by the government of Myanmar [Burma] to build schools, clinics, hospitals and roads, the UN system in Myanmar [Burma] nevertheless sees every day that in this potentially prosperous country basic human needs are not being met.

“Today, Myanmar’s [Burma’] estimated per capita GDP is less than half that of Cambodia or Bangladesh. The average household is forced to spend almost three quarters of its budget on food. One in three children under five are suffering from malnutrition, and less than 50 percent of children are able to complete their primary education.

“It is estimated that close to 700,000 people each year suffer from malaria, and 130,000 from tuberculosis. Among those infected with HIV, an estimated 60,000 people needing anti-retrovirals do not yet have access to this life-saving treatment.”

The UN statement stung Burma’s Foreign Ministry into issuing a “strong protest,” complaining that it was “very negative [and] deliberately ignores the successful conclusion of the National Convention which has adopted basic principles for the new constitution as well as the economic development and the gains made in various sectors, such as education, health, transportation etc.”

These gains would be greater were it not for the sanctions levied against Burma, the Foreign Ministry said.

The Ministry said it had been “disappointed” by the decision to issue the statement, which had “jeopardized the good working relations existing between the Ministry and the Country Team [the UN representation in Burma.]”

The Ministry demarche made no mention of the upcoming visit by Gambari, expected to begin within the next few days.

The latest news from Burma said UN Head Of The Office in Rangoon was surmoned to Nay Pyi Daw by the Junta Officials. The news also said his job is officially terminated by the Military Regime.

Charles Petrie has been accused by the government of overstepping his duties by criticising Myanmar’s “deteriorating humanitarian situation”.

Beware of the cleaners in Yangon! A new kind of buisness thriving in Burma, for Projunta Thugs.

myanmar-people.jpg

Facts, Latest situation in Burma

1. About 500 pro government thugs who , actively involved in the breakdown of the recent peaceful protests in Burma, were promoted to work as cleaners under the Rangoon city hall. ( Finally Military Junta was  able to find jobs for it’s supporter to continue spying the public as cleaners)

2. There is a new kind of business opportunity ( first of it’s kind in the whole world) thriving in Burma for police, soldiers and  progoverment thugs . They simply arrest the people for whatever reason they want ( having cell phones, back home late for breaking the Curfew).

It will cost  a person 60,000 kyats , pay on the spot to avoid being arrested. Once the person is arrested, the  family members has to go to the police station, the price tag is 200,000 per person to be released. ( if you can arrest 10 person a day, it is a really good money in starving Burma) The faithful thugs of the Government are  spinning money happily in Burma.

3. Exiles family members also arrested according to following news from DVB.

Oct 21, 2007 (DVB)–Burmese government troops raided a house in Rangoon in the early hours of Friday morning and arrested the family of an 88 generation student member who lives in exile in the United States. Daw San San Tin, the mother of student activist Ko Nyi Nyi, was arrested together with four other people during a raid by government troops on the family’s house in Tamwe township, Rangoon, in the early hours of Friday morning, according to neighbours.Ko Nyi Nyi left Burma after the 8888 uprising and currently resides in the US.The others who were arrested were identified as Ma Thet Thet Aung and Ma Noe Noe, nieces of Daw San San Tin, and Ko Ko Gyi and Ko Kyaw Swa, two guests who were staying at the house at the time.

Here is the detailed of an interview with the one of the victim’s relatives of shooting in front of a Tarmyay High School,

Details of Interview with DVB and Thu Zar ( Aunt of the one of the gunshot dead victims Thet Pine Soe) as follows:

He was shot dead in front of Tamyay High school on the 27th of September.

His body was cremated and only family members were allowed to attend the last Burial Rites.

When did they inform you that Thet Pine Soe was shot dead?

“We were told by Thet Pine Soe’s friend on 27th of

September, that he was shot on the same day, and

we went to the scene immediately. When we

arrived there witness told us that two people had been shot dead and brought by the soldiers in an Army Jeep. He was wearing a yellow T-shirt and Blue Jeans. So we were almost sure that he was shot. However due to the Marshal’s Law, we could not do anything.

Was the Funeral of Thet Pine Soe done according to the Buddhist way?

“No, nobody was allowed to attend except for the family members”

Did his injury look accidental? Or what do you think?

“ We think he was shot at point blank.”

Could you please tell us which part of his body was injured?

“His head was blown open, the cranial cavity was empty with a big hole, there was nothing (Brain) inside, when we saw him before the cremation”

Was he a student from that high school?

Yes

What we heard was that a total of six people were shot dead in front of the school.

Yes six people died there.

When, where and how he was cremated?

On 28th September 3:30 pm at Htein Pin cemetery, Cremated.

Could you give us some details about the cremation?

The only thing required of us was that we were not allowed to cry loudly, and only family members were allowed to attend, so we wept in our heart

Thank you

Than Shwe at Soe Win’s funeral. When will be his turn to follow?

This recent photo shows Burmese Junta supremo Than Shwe at the late PM Soe Win’s funeral. At background you can see Mai Daw Gyi ( Madam Than Shwe) Kyaing Kyaing, looks scared for the upcoming Evil Omen for the Junta’s members.

My point is while the Burmese Monks, youths and activist as well as bystanders  and even a Japanese photojournalist, were brutally attacked and killed . For most of them, formal burial rites were not allowed( Just informed the family that the body was cremated)  However, they have enough courage of  shamelessly made this occasion (Funeral of Soe Win) as National Funeral.

According to Irrawddy news ..

Photographs carried by state-run papers showed that the ambassadors of Israel and  Italy and a special delegation from Singapore signed the book of condolences. Ambassadors from all Asean nations attended the funeral. “

If International community is sympathetic to demise of Burmese self appointed PM, how about hundreds of life, quietly buried at night or cremated, or do you remember a Monk decomposed body seen floating in the river of Rangoon.?
